Canary Wharf Group has recognised Limehouse Community Forum as a very worthy recipient in recognition of the valiant efforts made supporting the community during the pandemic and throughout!
Zakir Khan, Director of Community Affairs, hosted the Recognition Ceremony on Aug 17th, giving thanks to the Covid Community Champions who made such a difference helping the community during the pandemic.
Here are some of the activities that LCF undertook supporting our community during the pandemic.
Established a food bank at Cyril Jackson School - supporting low income families weekly.
Collecting donated laptops to support remote learning for pupils.
Supported the production of face visors for local care homes and hospitals.
Collecting plates for Neighbours in Poplar to support their hot meals distributions to the elderly.
Collecting clothes for the homeless.
Supported Stiches in Time ( a local ladies group) in selling their handmade face masks to the community.
An Easter treasure quiz for the children in Limehouse with Easter eggs.
Family fitness day in the park.
