The unique Youth Hub Planter Parade will begin at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, 2 July, at the Yurt Café. Limehouse residents who are interested in participating should meet at the bandstand in Ropemakers Field at 5:45 PM before walking the short distance to the Yurt. At 6:00 PM the Parade will journey along Radcliff Lane to Branch Road. From there it moves along Horseferry Road to Narrow Street and then proceeds down the Limehouse Causeway to Cyril Jackson School. The Planters will arrive at the school at 6:30 PM. This will be a fun event so bring your camera!
The Hub Planter project has had a tremendous response from our crowdfunding campaign to raise £300.00 to create planters for our local Youth Hub. £185.00 has been donated to date which represents 65% of our goal. If you can help us get over the top please click HERE to donate. In addition, if you know where LIMEgreen can obtain some wooden pallets for this project, at little or no cost, please email Tim Kiely. Thank you!
LIMEgreen is our neighborhood environment working group with the goal of making Limehouse a cleaner, greener and more beautiful place to live.
The group is a volunteer organisation open to anyone who wishes to lend a hand, no special skills are required. We launched with initial funding from the Limehouse Community Forum and plan to fund raise for continued support. Our local Mayor and Council have endorsed the project with warm enthusiasm.
LIMEgreen’s first endeavours tackled the Westferry Portacabin on Limehouse Causeway and a plot at the corner of Three Colt Street/Commercial Road. Thanks to the tremendous efforts of our volunteers the areas were cleared of debris and weeds and replanted with gorgeous shrubs and flowers for a complete transformation.
