About the Event
Restoring Charles Clutterbuck's East Window. A special drive to raise funds for Charles Clutterbuck's East Window in St Anne's Church was launched. This powerful image of the Crucifixion, which was installed very soon after the fire of Good Friday 1850, is considered “at risk” by Historic England. Michael Hebbert, Chairman, Care for St Anne's, described how the hundreds of pieces of enameled glass will have to be removed and refurbished to counteract the ravages of the last 170 years. £6,000 was donated by Limehouse residents and friends who chose their preferred element(s) of the Window. Each element, as depicted to the right, were priced based on their position and prominence in the window.
