Limegreen

The Limehouse community forum environment group

LIMEgreen is our neighborhood environment working group with the goal of making Limehouse a cleaner, healthier and more beautiful place to live.

  • Our objective is to make Limehouse as environmentally friendly as we can, by cleaning up and greening our public spaces and using recycled or upcycled materials wherever we can.

  • We restore run-down green spaces and create new ones with our gardening volunteers.

  • Our hope is to bring the community together while working toward a greener, healthier and more beautiful environment for our historic district.

The group is a volunteer organisation open to anyone who wishes to lend a hand, no special skills are required. We launched with initial funding from the Limehouse Community Forum and plan to fund raise for continued support. Our local Mayor and Council have endorsed the project with warm enthusiasm.

LIMEgreen’s first endeavours tackled the Westferry Portacabin on Limehouse Causeway and a plot at the corner of Three Colt Street/Commercial Road. Thanks to the tremendous efforts of our volunteers the areas were cleared of debris and weeds and replanted with gorgeous shrubs and flowers for a complete transformation.
